Launching a #1 iOS / Android App
One product launch that I worked on that stands out is the launch of VIZ Media's VIZ Manga app.
I wore many hats in the launch of the app. I crafted messaging, framing the app's exclusivity, its wide appeal, and its vast library. I worked with designers to create compelling visual assets that would both inspire curiosity but also inform.
This was an important milestone and we wanted to give the key video a personal touch. We storyboarded and worked meticulously to ensure the message and framing of the video came across. We even got our CEO to address audiences directly, highlighting the benefits of the app.
I worked with paid teams to strategize around assets and budget distribution, plus convene on timelines. I orchestrated a launch window for the social campaign, designed to build on top of our buzzy launch video.
I also worked interdepartmentally to address lifecycle campaigns of the app, creating lasting messaging, regular cadence of creative, and upcoming paid campaigns.
The results of this campaign were phenomenal and met or exceeded every one of our goals. Our launch video alone catapulted into the trending spotlight with over a million views in 24 hours.
